Birthday Trip - Air Asia food

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to get back into blogging (ever since forever!) and here I am making at least a bit of progress. So i just had a birthday. The 33rd one. Even writing that sounds scary, but honestly the 30s arent so bad afterall. No wrinkles or gray hair yet, but i do see some fine lines. And i know i can rock grey hairs ;)

In my family, we make birthday a big deal. So we HAVE to celebrate. I didnt grow up celebrating birthdays often, it was only just simply a birthday greeting and birthday money - which its fine!

But my husband always insists on celebrating. Even when we couldn't afford it, we always make sure we at least eat our favorite food during birthdays :) back then, i would always choose Fish n Co (now closed already haha)

Now that we Alhamdulilah are employed and stable, we can now be a little excessive. We would get each other electronic gifts and treat a fancy meal. Nowadays, i enjoy steaks so much and my fav ones are from Newstar Box.

This year, i didnt have any electronic wishlist. So my husband opt for a trip to Kuala Lumpur instead. He knows I love it there. So it was no surprise. There's so many food bucket list that I have yet to try there.

It was actually a last minute trip, confirmed it 2 weeks prior. So booking tickets and hotel will not be cheap. We opt to use the AirAsia SNAP. The hotel + flight booking. And we choose to go from Miri. Overall, it costs us around BND4XX for flight + hotel for 2 people. It was an OK price, but could've got it cheaper if book early.

I honestly do not like Miri flights, roadtrips makes me nauseous. And Miri flights are always on late night. Which can be a good thing for me, as i didnt have to apply for leave that day as i can still make it to the flight without skipping work.

My flight that day was fine. We did have delay twice but it was only like a 40 minutes delay overall. We boarded late as the que was long, so we didnt have any baggage compartment available at our seat. We were offered to change seats at the back and honestly we liked it! No one to share it with hehe.

OK lets talk about AirAsia food. I've been taking AirAsia flights quite often and the food NEVER dissappoints. They have a lot on their menu and so cheap alsooo.

We got Mac and Cheese, MALA Noodles, Basque Cheesecake, Zero Coconut Water and Curry puff.

We got this because when i searched for AirAsia flight food, this Mala noodles always shows up and has good reviews. However, we unfortunately did not liked it. It is too 'fragrant' for us. We liked the spice though.

Next is the karipap. Just a simple snack. Nothing special, wish it has more curry taste but overall, its alright.

This is my second time ordering this on an Air Asia flight. The first time I had them, it was delicious. But this time, it tasted kind of bland.

My second time getting this also on their flight. Their burnt cheesecake. It was good, get this if you prefer a non sweet cheesecake

Overall, flight and food were fine. I would definitely explore their other menu next time but the choice is limited during flight booking and usually food orders take some time if you order on spot. I have yet to try the viral avocado dip and chip. Let me know if you have recommendations on their other menu!
